System Specification

Pond Details
Shape: Oval partly raised
Dimensions: 30 feet x 14 feet x 6 feet deep
Construction: Building blocks on concrete base, rendered with Thoroseal.
Waterproofing: Spray applied Polyurea
Bottom Drains: Two turbo drains
Settlement/Filter feeds: Via two turbo bottom drains
Pipework: 4", 2" & 1½" pressure pipe
System pumps: Two ½ HP Sequence models
Returns: Split between 6 underwater jets and waterfall. Waterfall can be turned off in winter. Skimmers return via waterfall.

Settlement System
Gallons: 600
Type: Two vortex chambers
Operation: Each bottom brain feeds a separate system comprising of a vortex chamber.
Filtration System
Gallons: 1,200
Type Two separate systems comprising of 2 parallel fed vortex units
Biological Chambers: Each vortex chamber contains heavily aerated Springflow filtration media.
Operation: The system operates entirely by gravity with pumps at the end of each system
Other equipment
Skimmers: Two with separate filter chamber and pump arrangement
UV’s: Two 50 watt units from Pond Wise.
Aeration: One Hi blo 80 for filter system and 2 Hi blo 40’s feed each of the turbo bottom drains.
Protein fractionator: Skimmers feed to an Aqua Teknik protein fractionator.
