Jim
and Mary Leard have several ponds in their
backyard. Because of their proximity to
the marshes of Folly Beach, they have had
numerous invasions of prey including
osprey, herons and an occasional
otter. To balance these losses, they
stock an overabundance of koi in their
ponds, along with plenty of plants for
them to hide under.
